Excursion to Alexandria
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo in the early morning by your Egyptologist-Guide and will head to Alexandria driving through the Desert Highway. Upon arrival we will start the tour immediately visiting the Catacombs (Kom Al-Shokafa) which is the biggest subterranean galleries and tomb in the City and the only tomb in Egypt that is built in 3 levels under the ground, then we will see the Pompay's Pillar that was built by the people of Alexandria as a thanks giving to the Roman Emperor Diocletian.
After that we will spend some time to enjoy a view from outside for the Fort of Quaitbay which is one of the famous Islamic monuments of Alexandria and it was built upon the location of the famous Light House (Pharos) of Alexandria that was one of the seven wonders of the world.
Then we will visit the Roman Amphitheater which is unique in Egypt as well as its surrounding monuments. We can have an optional lunch break in any of the local restaurants of the city and then we can have a visit to the Modern Bibliotheque of Alexandria that is considered to be one of the biggest in the modern world.
By the end of the tour we will head back to Cairo and you will be transferred to your hotel.
